Local Plan Event
19/05/2026
What is the Local Plan and why does it matter to your community?
Thursday 21st May, 6.00-7.30pm
The Community Hall, Grizebeck, Kirkby in Furness, LA17 7XH
Please let us know on this eventbrite booking link if you plan to join us. (The event is free but booking is essential.)
ACT is hosting an information and discussion session with National Park Strategy Planner, Chloe Swift.
This is to flag the opportunity to input to the plan early and effectively in the lengthy statutory process which starts in the autumn. There is more information on the attached agenda.
The seminar is one of a series we have been delivering to answer questions that often come up about the purpose of the Local Plan, and what it can and cannot do for local communities. You may already have been involved in related conversations directly with the National Park or with Friends of the Lake District. We are all keen to get good information to communities about how to engage with planning matters.
The conversation is likely to be of interest to parish councillors and anyone in the community who has an interest in how Planning Policy shapes our places. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to share this email with people you know, but please do book here or get in touch.
Very many thanks,
