Temp Road Closure

A temporary 30mph speed restriction has been put in place to allow Westmorland and Furness to carry out building works which are expected to commence 8th June 2026 and anticipated to take 5 days to complete.

Location: 1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour along the following lengths of road;

(i) A595, Wreaks Causeway, Kirkby Ireleth, from a point approx. 815 metres north west of its junction with the U5085, extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approx. 200 metres.

(ii) A595, Wreaks Causeway, Kirkby Ireleth, from a point approx. 600 metres south east of its junction with the U5073, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 200 metres.

2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of the A595, Wreaks Causeway, Kirkby Ireleth, from a point approx. 800 metres. south east of its junction with the U5073, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 300 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

N.B Passage for Emergency Vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of this restriction.
